Movie Review: Ramona and Beezus

Quick Plot Summary: Sweet feel-good movie about a rambunctious third-grader and her family.

Rating: Possibly Worthwhile
Suggested Ages: 7+

This is not a Christian movie, but is a fun & sweet feel-good movie with mostly reasonably positive messages. It's definitely a "kids movie" but adults will likely find it relatively enjoyable also.

The central character is third-grader Ramona Quimby, but the film also focusses on the rest of the family. My favorite scene in this movie is when the older daughter Beezus, who is feeling bad about herself, says something like "Who could ever love a Beezus?" And her younger sister innocently replies: "Jesus?" That's right girl, you preach it! :) Beezus doesn't receive that word in that moment (she throws a pillow at her sister in response), but I still like that Ramona spoke it forth!

Mostly this movie has nothing to do with religion though - it's just a feel-good movie that you don't want to overanalyze too much...
