Movie Review: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Quick Plot Summary: Four children enter another world through a wardrobe.

Rating: Great
Suggested Ages: 8+
Version Notes: This review is for the 2005 live-action movie released by Disney.

For great Christian entertainment, it's hard to beat this movie! A massive Hollywood, big-budget, special-effects driven movie that is thoroughly entertaining, clean, and provides a great allegorical picture of the redemption of Christ. What more could you really ask for from Hollywood?

Based on the book by noted Christian theologian C.S. Lewis, this movie is true to the spirit and intent of the book and is very uplifting.

This is a great "family night" movie and would be worthy of discussion afterwards in how Christ is like Aslan (the lion in the movie), etc.

Besides the major theme of redemption which runs throughout this movie, other notables include the hurt of beytrayal, the importance of forgiveness, and fulfilling your God-given destiny. Disney was involved with this movie and it's amazing to me just how LITTLE the faith messages got watered-down or corrupted.
